  • Dirty Projectors Reveal New Album Artwork

    Brooklyn experimental pop band Dirty Projectors have just released the artwork for their latest album, “Swing Lo Magellan.” The cover (above) features the band’s leader, Dave Longstreth, playing the air guitar for a seemingly unexcited audience.

    Dirty Projectors will be playing with Purity Ring at the Danforth Music Hall on July 6th.

  • Mayer Hawthorne to take break before next album

    Currently on tour promoting his 2011 album, “How Do You Do,” California’s Mayer Hawthorne intends to take some time before releasing another album. ”I’m always working on new stuff, but ‘How Do You Do’ is definitely the focus right now,” Hawthorne tells Billboard.com. “This is the biggest tour I’ve ever done; it started two years ago, basically, and I’ve pretty much been on the road non-stop — and we still have a long way to go. A lot of people are just discovering this album right now, so I’m not really thinking about a next album just yet.”

    Mr. Hawthorne will be performing with support from The Stepkids at The Hoxton on May 25th.

  • Simian Mobile Disco Share Their Favourite Sounds

    In a recent interview with The Guardian, dance-music duo Simian Mobile Disco revealed which sound-effects really get them going. Among the list was the Roland TR-808 kick drum, what they say has the power to create “hip hop and house”. The guys also declared their love for “The Lately Bass,” “The Spring Reverb” and “The Twip,” sound effects they say play a big role in their music.

  • Justice Performs At Coachella 2012

    French electronic music duo Justice recently played a set at Coachella, one of North America’s largest music festivals held in Indio, California. Co-producers Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay released their second studio album, titled Audio, Video Disco, back in 2011 and have been performing worldwide since.

    Justice will be headlining HARD Toronto on August 4th at the historic Fort York: Garrison Common alongside M83, Buraka Som Sistema, and Austra.
